About This Policy
TECHNO DEALS PTE LTD is committed to following the Singapore Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2012 to safeguard the personal information of students and parents that the company has processed. Before you provide the company with any personal information, this document will inform you of the company’s data privacy policies and practices. When used in this document, the term “You” or any variant thereof refers to the owner of the personal data, which includes both the student and the child’s parent or legal guardian.
Source of Your Personal Data
Most, if not all, of your personal data was obtained from you directly, either from the following sources or from any other information you provided and this may include:
- Enquiry Form;
- Various type of Application and/or Registration Forms;
- All other School and/or support services related Request Forms;
- Previous qualification related documents and/or certificates
In some instances, your personal data may have been obtained from external sources including, but not restricted to the following:
- From third parties such as previous educational institutions, law enforcement agencies and other government entities;
- Third party service providers and any other future third parties in relation or incidental to the above;
- Personal data which are available in the public domain.
Personal data which may be collected from cookies through the use of the School’s website is governed by the Privacy Policy
What Kinds of Personal Information Do We Handle?
Your personal data must be collected and processed by the School for a variety of academic, educational, and administrative purposes. Personal data that we collect and process in general includes, but is not limited to:
Name, National Registration Identification Number (NRIC), Passport Number, Address, Contact Numbers Personal email address, images and photos Nationality, Gender of the Student Birth date, Previous experience, Marital status of parents/guardians, Emergency contact person(s) information, Information about billing, Employment/occupation.
If the personal data is required to initiate any matter with the School and you refuse to provide the personal data, the School will be unable to proceed with your matter.
Private Personal Information
Some of the personal data that we collect and process may include what the Act defines as “sensitive personal data,” which includes, but is not limited to:
Race, religion, health, records of misconduct and disciplinary action, criminal offender records, and family court orders
The Company will treat this sensitive information with care and will only use it for specific purposes. It will not be disclosed to a third party without your explicit permission, unless it is required to protect your vital interests or is requested by government agencies.
How Do We Make Use of Personal Information?
Personal data is collected and processed for a variety of reasons, including, but not limited to, the following:
- To process admission applications;
- Managing and responding to inquiries
- To keep track of students’ personal information, academic and non-academic records;
- To make co-curricular activities and other school events possible;
- Maintain a student/class register; Provide administrative support, counselling, and pastoral services as needed;
- To manage the use of facilities such as libraries and laboratories;
- To oversee graduation and alumni-related events;
- To manage the tuition and other payments;
- To inform students/parents/guardians of any important announcements;
- To gather data for relevant local or international statutory authorities or examination boards;
- In the event of an emergency, contact the student’s next of kin;
- To meet any regulatory, auditing, or security requirements to pursue/collect any arrears owed by our parents/guardians;
- To look after students’ medical needs;
- For any other purposes related to the smooth operation of the School.
Personal Information Disclosure
Unless you have given written consent to such disclosure or it falls within the scope of permitted disclosures under applicable laws/guidelines, the Company will keep your personal data confidential. The Company may disclose your information to the third-party categories listed below (but not limited to):
The Ministry of Education, as well as other relevant government departments/agencies, statutory authorities, and industry regulators, The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), and its appointed agencies
Foreign embassies and their designated agencies; Sponsors of the student, including his/her parents/guardians;
Professional or accreditation bodies; Examination boards; Third-party service providers appointed by the School, such as auditors, lawyers, contractors, printing companies, travel agencies, training organizers, and insurance companies;
Personal Data Access and Correction
Under the Act, you have the right to access and correct your personal information held by the School. We will make every effort to keep your records complete, accurate, and up to date. If you have reason to believe that your records with us are incorrect, incomplete, or out of date, please notify the School as soon as possible. If you want to request access to or correct data held by the School, or if you want to withdraw your consent to the processing/use of your personal data by us, please contact the Data Protection Officer at [email protected]
Although we only process your personal data for the purposes stated above, you have the right to request that we stop processing your personal data for other purposes (with your consent). You can exercise this right by contacting the Data Protection Officer via email. However, if you choose not to provide and/or fail to supply us with such personal data (and/or decide not to give us consent to process your personal data, including explicit consent for sensitive personal data), we will be unable to perform the enrolment contract or process your enrolment application with us.
As a result, if you choose not to provide us with the required information, the Student Contract may be terminated or an offer of a place of enrolment may be withdrawn.
Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be revised and amended at any time. Such changes, along with the updated Policy, will be communicated via the Company website: www.technodeals.com.sg and/or other appropriate communication means as determined by the Company. Parents and students should check the Company website on a regular basis for updates and changes to this Notice.
